From South Korea and Spain to the Frisian cows

Leeuwarden is known as the capital of the prosperous, agricultural province Fryslân. A province with nearly 3.000 dairy farms and more than 280.000 dairy cows. Fryslân is the home of the Frisian cow. Fryslân’s economy is sustained by agriculture and tourism. As international students, we have plenty of opportunities to experience the cultural and social life of Leeuwarden but that does not really cover what being a Frisian citizen means. More →

PR Talent Prize 2017 – #Thankyoupost

How do you thank volunteers? That is the winning theme of the PR Talentenprijs 2017 of the Communication education of the NHL. The winning team: Ilse Betten, Virginia Rignano, Heejin Roh, Remedios Torrico Alcudia and Marit Voogd.

A choir with different background but singing with one mind and the same passion

All for One Foundation is the first and only multicultural gospel choir in Friesland and was founded in January 2011. Their aim is to spread the message of gospel music, to connect different cultures to each other within Friesland and environs. Later the name became All for one gospel choir. By the initiative of musical director Wilco Kloosterman and – of African origin – musician Basile Maneka were twelve singers together to start a new gospel choir. Meanwhile, the choir has about fifty members of European, African, Surinamese and Antillean origin. More →
